TESDA V offers free foreign language courses
Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) V offers this year training on foreign language courses for free.
Aside from vocational and technical training skills, students can access Basic Korean Language for 100 hours and Basic Japanese Language for 150 hours.
These courses will not only offer languages but also include the study of the culture of the foreign countries.
According to Rosalyn Perida, designated PIO of TESDA Region V, Korean Language can be enrolled in San Francisco Institute of Science and Technology in Malilipot, Albay. Some of the enrollees desire to be call center agents.
On the other hand, Japanese language is primarily for nurses, caregivers and other medical related. It is a partnership between Japan and is now implemented in the Provincial Government of Pili, Camarines Sur."
Students who would like to enroll in the program must be at least 18 years old and high school graduate. To be in the priority list, applicants must be pre-qualified to work locally and abroad. It would take up two sessions from Monday to Friday.
The PIO added that graduates and workers with foreign language skills will have a better chance of getting hired and promoted. It will give them additional knowledge, skills and opportunities in working abroad. Also, they will always have the edge in extra communication skills and they will become more competitive.
Meanwhile, Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) and other interested individuals who do not have enough time can access its website just by registering online on training program of TESDA.
In the national level, foreign languages like Nihongo, Chinese, Spanish, Arabic and English are also offered for free. -Oragon Digest
