DENR supports nat'l disaster consciousness month
The active participation of Department of Environment and National Resources (DENR) V in the celebration of National Disaster Consciousness month is made possible by National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) in connection with the Office of the Civil Defense within the whole month of July.
This year’s celebration has the theme “Pagtugon sa Sakuna, Tungkulin ng Bawat Isa” whereas all the agencies of the government as well as the civil society are encouraged to be part of conducting Information Education Campaign (EIC) for the public.
“Dapat na maging prioridad ang pagiging handa kan lambing saro sa mga paabot na kalamidad, dakula na parte kan ahensya sa Disaster Risk Reduction sa paagi kan tanus na pagimplemnetar kan mga programa siring sa rehabilitasyon kan watersheds, pagmanehar kan mga natural asin national parks, pagtatanum nin kahoy sapaagi kan National Greening Program ngani na magin berde an kabubuldan asin rehabilitasyon kan bahura asin coastal gamit an Ridge to Reef Approach”, OIC Regional Director Cristina Marlene Rodriguez stated.
Being a member of Prevention and Mitigation Cluster of Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council, DENR V does a wide IEC in using tri-media. Officials of the agencies are supporting the program in terms of airing in radio which is @ Your Service Radio and having TV program. They also make use of the social media sites such as Facebook and YouTube.

DENR will still promote tree planting or growing activity on July 29, 2016 with NGAs or the National Government Agencies.
In line with the EO 137, the month of July is declared as the National Disaster Consciousness month to encourage the public to incorporate the Disaster Preparedness Program of the government. - Oragon Digest
